Description: These learning organizations face two key trends that are pushing them to consider online learning. The first is the aging of the population, which has pushed these organizations to consider how they can reach the adult, non-residential learner. The second is the trend toward "lifelong learning" which has created a sort of mass market in learning, which has really only emerged in the last generation. The historical trend has been for formal education and training to end at the finish of formal schooling. Today, lifelong learning opportunities are being extended to many more people than ever before.
